THE Aberdeen-based National Hyperbaric Centre has secured a prestigious contract in West Africa for the provision of its specialised diving auditing software.
The NHC developed its DiveCert software to assist with the regular certification maintenance of diving equipment, including air, saturation, mixed gas and portable diving systems, to assist companies in complying with health and safety legislation.
DiveCert allows clients to create, control, store and synchronise certification from one easy to use portal.
The certifications management system, which provides notification alerts one month before equipment is due for certification renewal, is built specifically to comply with International Marine Contractors Association (IMCA) guidance and improve offshore safety.
Group business development for the NHC, Lee Duncan, said: “It is vital that equipment is kept certified and tested within strict regimes. We understand the intricacies in keeping systems up-to-date and the software will help eradicate these issues.
“Worldwide standards are quite low and we would like to help get the industry as a whole to be working to the same standards and this is world leading product which helps technicians and certification personnel do just that.”
The NHC, has secured the four-figure contract with an independent diving company, based in Pointe-Noire in the Republic of Congo.
The NHC offers a wide range of services from commercial diver training, hyperbaric welding and subsea equipment testing and consulting.
In addition to providing global subsea expert support and training, the NHC, which was launched in 1987, also boasts hyperbaric pressure test chambers rated to an operational depth of 8,000 metres, a work chamber (rated to 1,000 metres), saturation system (rated to 300 metres) and an outdoor water test tank.
