A NORTH-east car dealership is supporting local sports star Hannah Miley as they gear up for the exclusive launch of a new off-road vehicle.
Town & County Honda is helping the Inverurie-based swimmer and will present her with the eagerly-awaited 4th generation CR-V on Thursday, 25 October, at the firm’s Lang Stracht base in Aberdeen.
The 23 year-old Olympic athlete will attend the event from 5.30pm-6.30pm to meet customers and guests.
Hannah Miley has European, Commonwealth, British and Scottish titles to her name, as well as a world silver medal.
She competed in the 400m IM (individual medley) and 200m IM final at the London Olympics this summer, finishing fifth and seventh respectively.
Miss Miley said: “I am very excited to be receiving the new CR-V from a local, North-east business and their ongoing support is much appreciated.
“It’s important for my training schedule to be able to get to the swimming pool in all sorts of weather and this new off-road car will ensure my training can continue as normal throughout the winter months in Scotland.
“The launch is a great opportunity for me to meet those who have helped me so I hope as many people as possible can come along to the launch.”
Guests at the CR-V launch will be encouraged to try out a daring menu inspired by renowned chef, Heston Blumenthal, with items including mini ‘toad-in-the-hole’ cupcakes, mini terracotta plant pots of crackling chocolate soil with hidden wasabi truffles and other unusual treats.
Town & County has been established in the North-east for 100 years and specialises in Honda, Land Rover and Porsche, boasting the largest display of manufacturer-approved 4x4s in Scotland.
Sales manager, Ross Wilkie, said: “We are looking forward to the launch of the new Honda CR-V model and are excited about welcoming Hannah Miley to the event.
“As a well-known local athlete, we all cheered Hannah on in the Olympics and it’s great to be able to support her.”
As part of the launch event, being held from 3pm-8pm, visitors who attend will automatically be entered into a competition to win flights for two to New York and will be given the opportunity to arrange a test drive in the new model.
The Honda CR-V model seats up to five adults and has plenty of storage space, making it ideal for both business and family trips.
Originally launched in 1995, the Honda CR-V 1st has become increasingly popular for its practical size and driver-friendly features.
