ON the weekend of Saturday 6th and Sunday 7th of October Merchant Square in Merchant City will host an extra special craft fair with all proceeds raised by Merchant City Properties from the hire of craft tables being donated directly to the Prince & Princess of Wales Hospice.
With around 50 crafters signed-up to take part, the fair is sure to be a great family occasion.
Featuring an array of hand-crafted items that simply cannot be found anywhere else, items available for purchase will include one-off, specially made pieces and quality products including: cards; jewellery; paintings; aromatherapy products; home-made jams and chutneys; photography and fashion accessories.
Jenni Morrison, of Merchant Square, said: “Come round to the Square on the weekend of 6th and 7th October and, in-between browsing a broad selection of arts and crafts, you can relax in our fabulous selection of restaurants and cafes, all set within a covered and heated Victorian courtyard – where it never rains!
“We’re delighted to play an active part in helping The Prince & Princess of Wales Hospice raise funds to provide specialist palliative care in Glasgow. This special craft fair offers a fantastic opportunity for shoppers to support the hospice in helping patients achieve the best quality of life possible in whatever time remains for them.”
Located on Candleriggs, Merchant Square, once part of the old Glasgow Fruit Market, is imbued with the history of the area’s dominating Victorian architecture, although today this sense of history blends seamlessly with the distinctly cosmopolitan ambiance that pervades the surrounding cobbled streets that bring the outside in.
