THE Avenue Shopping Centre in Newton Mearns is taking on a definite continental flavour as part of its programme of events for feastRen, the East Renfrewshire Food and Drink Festival.
A three day Continental Market with German BBQ, Spanish paella, French pancakes, Greek olives, Turkish Delight, aromatic soaps, handicrafts, handbags, purses and much much more comes to The Avenue from Friday – Sunday, 14th till 16th September.
Michelle McCabe, centre manager at The Avenue, said: “Our first ever Continental Market will offer shoppers a feast of fresh food from throughout Europe – presenting an opportunity to experiment with some more exotic delicacies and perhaps discover a taste for some new favourite foods.”
Organised by East Renfrewshire Council, feastRen is a two week-long celebration of food and drink. The festival includes cookery demonstrations by well-known chefs, farmers markets, cookery workshops and much more throughout the week.
The Avenue Shopping Centre, which is managed by commercial property consultancy BTWShiells, offers shoppers an alternative to sprawling trolley-dash shopping culture with a comprehensive range of outlets offering a warm and welcoming shopping experience conveniently located on the outskirts of Glasgow city centre.
