FOLLOWING her recent takeover of the popular Italian Bistro and Partners Suite in Glasgow’s West End, Nasreen Aksi, a former Scottish Asian Businesswoman of the Year, has introduced fresh a la carte and market menus.
“Whilst retaining an extensive selection of Italian classics, including pizzas and pastas, and wonderful modern international cuisine, including prime steaks, Scottish seafood and seasonal game, our new menus introduce a selection of fresh dishes to tempt the tastebuds alongside our firm favourites,” said Nas.
“And both menus are accompanied by a new cocktail list, draught beers and an extensive wine list.”
The new a la carte features a selection of starters, including: minestrone soup; pan seared king prawns with chilli and garlic; seared scallops with Stornoway black pudding; crayfish cocktail; light lobster and langoustine bisque and antipasti for two.
Its authentic stone baked pizza section offers everything from the classic margherita to funghi, salsiccia piccante and quattro stagioni, whilst its extensive pasta dishes include the popular all’ arrabbiata, bolognese, spaghetti carbonara, and scallopine di pollo.
Fish mains include: fettuccine of king prawns, crayfish and soft white crab; organic seared sea bass with lemon and herbs; seared salmon fillet and pan seared king prawns and king scallops with chilli and garlic.
Meat mains, meanwhile, offer: free range chicken breast served on Stornoway black pudding; honey roasted Gressingham duck; escalope of veal topped with parma ham and buffalo mozzarella; peppered rump steak; 8oz rib eye steak and a carved prime T bone of prime Scottish beef for two.
Vegetarian options include risotto primavera and melting wild mushroom lasagne with parmesan.
And to round things off, the delicious dessert menu offers: gelati rustici; sorbetto stagionale; warm chocolate and caramel fondant; a trio of crème brulee; white chocolate and vanilla cheese cake; tiramisu and a farmhouse cheese selection.
The Italian Bistro’s new market menu, meanwhile, offers starters of: salad of spicy Italian sausage; bruschetta with garlic and mozzarella; soup of the day and mozzarella and tomato salad.
Main course options include: roast breast of chicken; house steak burger; classic battered fish and hand cut chips; penne amatriciana; stone baked pizza; marinated, braised and roasted pork belly; tomato and parmesan risotto and rump steak.
Market menu desserts are: miniature white chocolate pot; vanilla ice cream; seasonal fruit crumble and taleggio and dolcelatte.
The Italian Bistro’s new market menu is available Sunday to Thursday from midday to 10pm and Friday and Saturday from midday to 6.30pm offering starters at £4, main courses at £8 and desserts at £4.
