Media Release: More cruises to visit the Inner Hebrides

Idyllic bay, Mull

THE innovative Argyll cruise company, The Majestic Line, is increasing its small boat cruises to the Inner Hebrides as a result of popular demand.

Guests of The Majestic Line have shown a strong preference for this area of unspoilt natural beauty, rich in history, culture and wildlife and demand is continuing to grow.

Sales manager, Marie Thoms, believes that visitors have a romantic association with the Islands of the Inner Hebrides.

She says: “Our cruises to the Islands of Mull and Skye are sold out before the season has even started and our Southern Hebrides cruise to Jura, Gigha and Colonsay also books out very early.

“We always try to respond to positively to our guests and so are more than happy to increase the number of our cruises to these iconic places for 2013.”

The family-run company, now in its eighth operating season, has so far escaped the effects of the economic downturn, despite being an exclusive holiday choice aimed at the higher end of the market.

Andy Thoms, director, said: “So far, we have been fortunate not to feel the effects of the recession, mainly due to a very loyal clientele.

“Word of mouth recommendation and repeat guests are at the heart of our success, with some guests cruising with us up to eight times.”

However, the company is very aware that times are getting tough in the tourism industry and is not complacent.

They have recently streamlined the business to make savings to ensure no price increase for their cruises in 2013.

This included moving the sales team from Edinburgh to join the operations team in Holy Loch Marina in Argyll which will allow closer communication with guests and support for the new cruises to the Inner Hebrides.
