AS a part of the large ‘Portes du Soleil’ skiing area on the French-Swiss border, the Morzine resort has established itself as the typical ‘Savoyard’ village of the area.
It has embraced the ‘village’ ethos by staying charming and compact whilst embracing modernity with pools and saunas and keeping trendy with various musical events.
The resort has put into place a variety of programmes for adults: from those looking to learn how to ski with the Youcanski programme to going on a morning escape through the slopes with Sunrise Guiding to an eco-friendly aquatic centre, the attractions at Morzine don’t stop at the great skiing.
Morzine is also widely known for its lively ‘after-ski’ scene, partly due to its chic restaurant ‘le Tremplin’ where an electro DJ regularly spins and recently hosted the recent Basscamp Festival.
Gastronomy fans will want to try one of the top French restaurants – ‘Atelier’. Alexandre Baud-Pachon, a multiple award winning chef, offers sophisticated courses with locally-sourced ingredients.
Other activities on the slopes of Morzine also include 115km of crosscountry skiing, a family area with children’s activities, and an organic spa.
Events:
- 23 December to 4 January – Morzine love Christmas
- 28 January to 1 February – Morzine loves women: variety of wellbeing activities
- 21 to 25 March – Rock the Pistes festival
The Morzine resort is in the Savoie region of the Rhone-Alps and is open from 15 December 2012 to 15 April 2013.
Don’t forget to register your interest in attending our 11 September Winter Wonderland event to find out more and meet with Morzine!
