BORDERLINE, the charity for homeless and insecurely housed Scots in London, have announced the appointment of Reverend Philip Majcher as its chair.
Reverend Majcher is the minister at Crown Court Church of Scotland and was previously a trustee of the charity. He replaces outgoing chair, Alan Mackie.
Borderline which recently had its government funding re instated after the direct intervention of the Moderator of the Church of Scotland, works with homeless Scots in the capital. Their services include:
- Professional housing and welfare benefits advice and advocacy
- Access to six rooms in a partner hostels in London
- Assessment and referrals to specialist drug and alcohol agencies
- Travel warrants for job interviews
- Supplying birth certificates for proof of identity
- Free telephone advice line
The new chair said: “I am delighted to be appointed the new chair of Borderline, a charity I have been involved with for a number of years. I look forward to the challenge of reaching and supporting even more homeless and insecurely housed Scots in London over the years ahead. I would also encourage anybody to consider donating to Borderline to ensure our vital services continue.”
