HOOTS! – a wee book of classic Couthie humour – is the first title in the Couthie series, doodlemacdoodle, Edinburgh-based publisher is working in collaboration with Couthie who specialise in Scottish gifts and stationery, and a second title, Off Kilter!, is planned for later this year.
Hoots! features reproductions of 28 original Couthie images gleaned from 100 year-old postcards, accompanied by entertaining commentaries.
A launch party will be held on June 27th at 6.30pm at The Real Mary King’s Close, Edinburgh.
Join us for Hoots and Off Kilter cocktails, made with delicious Scots Cheer fruit rum and vodka, to celebrate the launch.
Anster Cheese and biscuits from St Andrews Farmhouse Cheese will be also served.
To complete the celebrations, local musicians will play in the courtyard, and the actor, Sandy Welch will perform extracts from the book.
