BEST known as Glasgow’s ‘Curry King’, renowned entrepreneur, Charan Gill MBE, will host ‘Seeking Silence’, an event teaching people how to tap into the healing power of their own inner silence at Glasgow Royal Concert Hall next Saturday.

‘Seeking Silence’ will show how inner peace and silence is the key to the healing of mind, body and soul using a range of techniques, including Raja Yoga meditation.

Charan’s role as host follows his own application of meditation which has led him to make major changes to his modern lifestyle.

“My interest in this technique is linked to the chaos of the modern world – every morning we read the news about the Eurozone crisis, Syria or the Middle East – until at some point you start to question how do you keep yourself sane in this world?

“When all this chaos is surrounding you, how do you stay on the straight and narrow

“People are starting to look for different ways because the old ways, in my opinion, are broken.

“This technique about re-evaluating what you’re doing; it helps you rewire your brain, which is like a large computer; the memory can be cleared and the brain can be rewired to work in a different way.

“The techniques to make that happen apply to everybody; it’s a tool that you can use in your life, no matter who you are.

“‘Seeking Silence’ is a helpful guide to taming useless thoughts of past regrets and anxiety about possible future events.

“It leads to a calm awareness of all that is happening to the mind and body, whilst not being distracted by events that we cannot change and have no control over.”

The event provides an opportunity for people from all religious and cultural backgrounds to explore their own spirituality and learn skills of reflection and meditation derived from Raja Yoga, which will help develop inner calm, clear thinking and personal well-being.

With presentations from lecturer Anthony Strano and international speaker and spiritual educator Gopi Patel, ‘Seeking Silence’ is at Glasgow Royal Concert Hall from 3pm-5pm on Saturday 9th June.
