MALT maniacs have a once-in-a-lifetime chance to meet ten of the world’s top master blenders this June, at an exclusive event hosted by the Scotch Whisky Experience in Edinburgh.
As part of this year’s International Spirits Challenge, master blenders from Japan, Sweden, the USA, Scotland and Ireland will gather in Scotland for the first time in the competition’s 17-year history to judge over 300 individual whiskies from distilleries across the globe.
On Wednesday 06 June (7.30 – 9.30pm), whisky enthusiasts will have the opportunity to meet the judges at an intimate reception, followed by a tutored tasting, hosted by chair, John Ramsay, former master blender at Edrington Distillers for 18 years.
The evening will conclude with a Q&A session, where the master blenders will give an in-sight into their alcohol alchemy and examine the similarities and differences in their approach to blending.
Says a spokesperson: “Now in its 17th year, the International Spirits Challenge is the most authoritative and influential spirits competition in the world, and involves some of the most respected leaders in the industry.”
Tickets are priced at £25 per person, including whisky and canapés.
