LEADING casing accessory and completion tool company, Downhole Products, have announced that the Middle East operation is to move to new, larger premises to accommodate a growing team.
Due to a significant increase in business in the region, the company has just recruited three additional business development managers.
This, and the move to bigger office premises in Dubai’s Jebel Ali Freezone, will help manage the upturn in demand for products and services in the area.
Naeem Tahir will cover Pakistan, Kurdistan and Qatar from the Dubai office whilst Michelle Passanha will focus on Abu Dhabi, South Iraq and Oman from the same base and Joseph Tan will be based in and cover Kuwait.
With increasing business particularly in Kurdistan, Northern Iraq, Downhole Products have also just opened a sales office to service the local customer base – a first for the company in the country.
Downhole Products’ managing director, Ian Kirk, said: “We have progressively moved the company forward within this region over the past few years, with the demand for quality, reliable equipment from the operators ever increasing.

Downhole Products are a world market leader in the design, manufacture and supply of casing accessories and completion tools such as centralisers, reamer guide shoes and cable clamp protectors.
The most recent addition to their product offering is CaseBit, a joint development with American parent company Varel International which incorporates patent pending features designed to ensure effective drilling and smooth drill-out for the following string.
The company’s headquarters are at Portlethen near Aberdeen, Scotland and it also operates bases the Middle East, Asia, USA and Australia.
Downhole Products recently announced that it had been awarded its second prestigious Queen’s Award – the UK’s highest accolade for business success.
