OVER 60 local business people attended an interactive social media conference believed to be the first of its kind in the North east this week.
The one-day event Granite Online aimed to unlock the secrets of social media and online platforms by providing delegates the chance to ‘debate, educate and participate’ at the Holiday Inn Hotel, Westhill.
A line-up of key speakers from the local business world offered a variety of sessions such as developing a social media strategy and looking at social media in an employment context, as well as giving everyone the chance to share best practice.
Speakers who provided an insight into how they have used social media to increase business locally included: Ben Iravani of Orchid, Donna Liddle of Cammach Recruitment, Gavin Henry of Sure VoIP, Julie Mitchell-Mehta of Debut Marketing, Andy Atwell of CMS Cameron McKenna, Kenneth Mackay of Initiative2 and Andrew Smith of ABN Community.
Kris Gilmartin and Danny Law of STV Local also gave a presentation on how they use social media to communicate breaking news.
