You are invited to send a photographer / reporter / camera crew to a photocall at The Peebles Hotel Hydro (on Thursday 15 March at 10:00am) to launch the extended programme for the TweedLove Bike Festival 2012, in association with Alpine Bikes, which runs from Saturday 26 May to Tuesday 5 June.
What:
For a taste of the innovative and action-packed programme of events at TweedLove 2012, two local freeride mountain bikers, Dave Mackison and Jake Hood, will launch themselves high into the air off a 4ft high kicker that will be positioned in front of the majestic Peebles Hotel Hydro. They will perform some jaw dropping stunts before landing on the steep grass downslope below. The shots will be set against the stunning backdrop of the beautiful hotel garden grounds and the Tweed Valley hills beyond.
There will also be an opportunity to photograph up to a dozen members of the Borders College BASE (Borders Academy of Sporting Excellence) Mountain biking course as they hurtle down the grand staircase in front of the hotel, to the lawns below – it's very steep and rough! Anything could happen.
TweedLove organiser Neil Dalgleish, from Hillside Agency – (http://www.hillsideagency.com/), will be available for interview.

TWEEDLOVE BIKE FESTIVAL
Ten days of bike riding and good times on and off the bike in the cycle-friendly Tweed Valley in the Scottish Borders from Saturday 26 May – Tuesday 5 June 2012.
Tweedlove is organised by locals and showcases the best on and off road riding in the area. Loads of the events are free. Full details at: http://tweedlove.com/
The Tweed Valley is an area with hundreds of miles of the country's best trails, tracks and roads. So it's not surprising that in the valley there are a remarkable number of resident bike nuts, of both the mountain and road variety, to whom biking is a big part of life. It is their enthusiasm, generous support and community spirit that makes TweedLove such a great success.
Entries are open for some events. However full information and entry details for some events will be announced on Thursday 15 March. To keep updated with programme information:
