Media Release: The ultimate staycation – cruise the Western Isles of Scotland

SPECIALIST Scottish cruise company, The Majestic Line, has launched three, one-off exclusive cruises for the 2012 season, specifically to appeal to the English and Scottish market.

Owner, Andy Thoms, said: “Cruise enthusiasts may well be put off the large global cruise companies following the spate of reported disasters from vessels sinking to people going missing.

“The Majestic Line is one of the world’s smallest sea cruising companies and we are encouraging UK-based cruise enthusiasts to try us as an alternative to big-boat cruising.

“We are a family business, now in our eighth cruising season and our success lies in providing the personal touch and the best of Scottish hospitality in a little-known, but stunningly beautiful cruising area.”

The Majestic Line has two vessels sailing the Argyll Coastline on the West Coast of Scotland, with 11 guests on board each vessel in six ensuite cabins.

The new one-date-only six-night cruises take in unique local happenings such as Highland Games and Food Festivals while providing fabulous hospitality on board:

• Taste of Arran and Argyll 6-night cruise visits the Tarbert Seafood Festival in Loch Fyne departing July 7th

• Taste of Argyll Speciality Food 6-night cruise visits the eatBute Food Festival at Mount Stuart on the Isle of Bute, departing September 8th

• Cowal Games, Arran and the Kyles of Bute 6-night cruise visits the world famous Cowal Gathering in Dunoon, departing August 24th

Marie Thoms, sales manager of The Majestic Line, explains: “Our three new bespoke itineraries take in the charming events and heritage of Argyll providing a truly unique and authentic experience.

“The majority of the English and a large portion of Scots have never visited Argyll, which has 3,000 miles of spectacular coastline and is best explored from the sea. Our cruises are the antithesis of big boat cruising with guests often commenting it is more like a private ‘floating house party’ ”
