SOCIAL media, it’s everywhere – Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, YouTube, etc… Some of us are using it.

Continues a spokesperson: “Some of us are not. Some of us will be using it, because everyone else is.

“It’s grown from a channel to share stuff with friends, fast news headlines, look for work and see funny videos – to what is now a rapidly-growing range of channels for businesses to engage with existing and potential customers on a local, national and global scale, that now cannot be ignored.

“Business is now more competitive than ever before – sometimes harder to not only attract new customers but also to retain existing ones.

“For tomorrow’s businessmen and women who are now at school, college and university – this is second nature to them – they are being brought up with it.

“Businesses need to understand the impact of it. What does it mean to you? What if your competition is great at it and you’re not? Do you need to know all the detail about it – or just a good awareness and hire/train those that will live and breathe it?”

But ultimately, how can social media’ help grow your business?

Find out by attending our next networking lunch, ‘The Role of Social Media in Rapid Growth Optimisation’  on Thu 23rd Feb with Gordon MacIntyre-Kemp, aka ‘The Intelligiser’ at David Lloyd Renfrew.

The spokesperson adds: “Marketing has evolved – optimising a company for rapid growth now requires an integrated approach to social media, digital and traditional marketing.

“Managers need to be prepared to change the way they view social media and the role of marketing in their organisations.

“Over the last two years, Gordon MacIntyre-Kemp has worked closely with and studied six fast-growth companies (over 30 per cent growth per annum) as a sales, marketing and social media advisor.

“He has combined this experience with research into the marketing activities of over 100 UK-based, fast-growth companies and this has helped him to identify the marketing activities and behaviours that lead to rapid sales and profit growth.

“Based on this research, Gordon will be presenting his formula for Rapid Growth Optimisation – K.A.S.T. Which stands for Knowledge Leadership Positioning (K), Attraction Marketing (A), Social Media Engagement (S) and Trust Maximisation (T).”
