TOM Johnston, president of Renfrewshire Chamber, recently presented St Vincent’s Hospice with a cheque for £3,500.
As one of the Chamber main charities of the year, the hospice received its share of funds raised from the Chamber’s annual business awards, The ROCCO’s.
Kate Lennon, chief executive for St Vincent’s, said: “The donation could not have come at a better time. My sincerest thanks to the Chamber and its members.”
Set in a tranquil location on the outskirts of Howwood, St Vincent’s hospice provides specialist palliative care and support for people throughout Renfrewshire.
Mr Johnston commented: “The Chamber has raised over £25,000 over the last two years for local charities and good causes that are either based in Renfrewshire or benefit its residents. We are delighted to be supporting St Vincent’s. Like all hospices, they do a fantastic job.”
Mr Johnston presented the cheque to Brona McGee, clinical services manager at the hospice.
