IT firm, Northgate Managed Services, has recruited four new members to its technical team in Glasgow following a number of high-profile contract wins in Scotland this year.
The Belfast-based company, recently named IT Supplier of the Year at the British Computer Society (BCS) & Computing UK Industry Awards 2011, has made the additions to its Scottish office which is led by managing director, James Turnbull.
Four technical consultants with a combined 50-plus years of industry experience have been either recruited by Northgate or promoted from within the company, which specialises in cloud based and infrastructure services.
The new additions to the Glasgow-based Scottish office are:
- Stephen McGuigan, who joined from Bodycote PLC, has 13 years of experience in the IT industry. He is a Microsoft-certified consultant who specialises in system architecture, design, implementation and support.
- Garry Monaghan previously worked with NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde as an infrastructure development consultant where he helped to design, configure and implement an estate of 40,000 users and 25,000 desktops.
- Krzysztof Wiselka who, with more than 12 years of IT experience, was promoted internally having previously held the post of virtualisation technical consultant within Northgate Managed Services.
- Finally, Alex McKenzie was another who made the move up internally from his previous post of a technical specialist at Northgate Service Delivery. Alex has been involved in the IT sector for almost 15 years and brings expertise in HP servers, Microsoft and Citrix.
All four will be working in Northgate’s Glasgow office under Scottish MD Turnbull and technical manager Ricky Milliken.
Milliken, who has worked with Altor ICM, SX3 and Northgate since joining the IT industry in 1999, said: “We’re delighted with the four new additions to the technical team as the quality and expertise of our staff is fundamental to Northgate’s success.

Northgate is also currently recruiting for a client director, based in Glasgow. The role offers a unique opportunity to manage and develop an existing Health Client base that has grown steadily over the past five years.
