BRUICHLADDICH distillery, on the the Hebridean Island of Islay, features in a Christmas Day special, involving haulage giants, Eddie Stobart.
Explains a spokesperson: “The Islay edition of the programme is part of the successful fly-on-the-wall documentary series about the Eddie Stobart group, now in its second series.
“Eddie Stobart have an urgent delivery to make to Bruichladdich on the windswept isle of Islay but the worst winter storms for decades cause major problems.
“Bruichladdich single malt whisky is enjoyed all over the world, and orders need to be shipped in time for Christmas; the distillery need the delivery urgently.
“Winds gust at 60 knots – hurricane speed – and there is havoc with the Islay ferry service with deadlines fast running out.”
The Eddie Stobart Christmas Special, featuring Bruichladdich, will be shown on prime time TV on on Channel 5 on Christmas Day at 21.00.
It will be actually a repeat – albeit from the night before, Christmas Eve – with the first showing at 19.00.
