GLASGOW is set to get its own little taste of Italy this month when Carluccio’s opens its doors in the heart of the city’s commercial district – the first Carluccio’s restaurant in Scotland.
The latest addition to the Carluccio’s family, established by Antonio Carluccio in London in 1991, will offer a signature combination of Italian restaurant, caffè and food shop.
Open throughout the day, Carluccio’s will be the ideal destination for Italian coffee and breakfast through to three-course evening meals with wine, as well as a spot of retail therapy.
Simon Kossoff, CEO at Carluccio’s, comments: “We have been looking to open a Carluccio’s in Scotland for some time now. Antonio and I are delighted to have found a first site in Glasgow and are really looking forward to our opening later this month.”
THE RESTAURANT
Using the freshest seasonal ingredients, many sourced direct from small artisan producers in Italy, Carluccio’s will offer genuine Italian food that can be enjoyed in bustling and relaxed surroundings. Glaswegians can look forward to everything from delicious antipasti and fresh handmade pasta, to seasonal fish, meat and vegetarian mains and decadent desserts, many based on Antonio Carluccio’s original recipes.
FOODSHOP AND DELI
Carluccio’s deli will be brimming with freshly made dishes for lunch on-the-go. Choose from a wide selection of tasty ciabatta sandwiches, daily risottos and light salads. Opening just in time for Christmas, the food shop will be bursting with beautifully packaged Italian products. Take time to browse the shelves for olive oils, wines and coffee to biscuits, sauces and handmade chocolates for foodie gifts and treats.
