A PROMINENT North-east businesswoman has announced that she is to retire after 25 years at the forefront of the local fashion scene.
Jackie Allen has announced that, later this year, she is planning to step down as proprietor of Oldmeldrum’s well known B’s Knees boutique and beauty salon to move on to new challenges.
As well as being renowned for stocking some of the fashion world’s leading collections, B’s Knees is noted for its tireless charity work and, thanks to a stream of fashion shows, Jackie and her hardworking team have helped raise many thousands of pounds for numerous worthy causes over the years.
Commenting on the announcement, Jackie said: “The past 25 years have been full of fun, laughter and friendship and, although they have not been without their challenges, these have been part of the hugely rewarding experience that B’s Knees has given me.
“I am very proud that the business has survived the many ups and downs that the changing economic climate causes and this has been achieved by adapting, changing and growing to meet the changing needs of the consumer.
“The result is a strong and vibrant business which has an excellent reputation throughout the area and beyond.
“However, I have now reached a point in my life where I am excited at the prospect of and open to new challenges and have decided that the time is right for me to focus my time and energy on these.”
