THE former Tiso outdoor equipment and clothing store at 26 Netherkirkgate in Aberdeen has been acquired by Drumrossie Land Development Company Ltd.
Drumrossie have obtained planning permission for luxury flats on the upper floors and will lease out the ground floor retail premises at what will be known as Flourmills, Netherkirkgate.
Commercial property experts FG Burnett acted jointly with Eric Young & Co on behalf of Tiso, which has relocated to a new 10,000 sq ft site at 1 John Street next to John Lewis.
The 6,300 sq ft Netherkirkgate site had been on the market at offers over £400,000.
FG Burnett director, Richard Noble, said: “Tiso is a long-sstablished business in Aberdeen and we are delighted we were able to assist them, both in sourcing a new larger facility in John Street which allows for expansion, and in disposing of their former base in Netherkirkgate.”
Gordon Brown, of Drumrossie Land Development Company Ltd, said: “We have already secured planning consent for seven luxury flats at this prime city centre site. There will be a three one and two-bedroom flats and one three bedroom flat, starting at prices of around £125,000 upwards.
“Building work at Flourmills will start in the next few months and on completion we expect a good deal of interest in these high-end properties which are located in a newly revitalised part of Aberdeen city centre.”
The 2,475 sq ft ground floor and basement premises is about to go on the market and Drumrossie is seeking a suitable retail tenant for the prime city centre site.
