ISG, one of Scotland’s fastest-growing construction companies, has been appointed by Scottish Widows Investment Partnership (SWIP) to carry out a £2.45m improvement project at the popular Hermiston Gait Retail Centre in Edinburgh.
Working across all eight retail units on the park, ISG is carrying out a comprehensive programme of façade improvement work, which has been carefully phased and scheduled to minimise any potential disruption to regular trading.
Improvements will include the installation of new lighter coloured sandstone external cladding to the units and the addition of striking new glass canopies at the entrance to each store.
ISG has worked closely with both the Hermiston Gait retailers and SWIP to create a programme that includes a significant volume of over night and out of hours working.
Phase one of the scheme will run until mid-November and concentrates on three vacant units at the park, with the second phase focused on existing stores, including Halfords, Currys and Mothercare, commencing after the Christmas trading period on the 9th January 2012 and set for completion in May.
Andy Mallice, ISG’s managing director in Scotland, commented: “Developing long-lasting relationships with our clients continues to prove critical to the success of the business and as an organisation we strive to provide consistently high quality service delivery regardless of geography.
“This latest scheme closely follows the recent announcement of a £12 million win with SWIP in Reading and demonstrates our capabilities across the UK.”
Within Scotland, ISG has secured contracts worth around £60m since it was formed in December 2010.
Among its clients are Diageo, one of the world’s biggest spirits groups, and social housing provider, Home Group.
