AN Aberdeen-based communications company is celebrating the completion of an unusual contract to supply services to Nepal.
Internet telephony service provider, SureVoIP, is part of the Suretec Group which was established in 2003.
The company recently worked with London-based travel firm, himalayasnepal.com, to create a high-tech link to an office in the Nepalese capital, Kathmandu.
Using the state-of-the-art fully managed SureVoIP hosted communication system, Gavin Henry and the team at SureVoIP have been able to link VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocol) phones and a camera in the Kathmandu branch to an office in London, giving himalaysnepal.com a 24-hour presence which allows visitors in Kathmandu to chat live on an one-to-one basis with a member of staff in London.
Commenting on the Nepal project, SureVoIP managing director, Gavin Henry, said: “This latest project underlines the increasing importance of internet telephone services for any company dealing in more than one country, not least due to the flexibility it affords and the fact that VoIP can be used anywhere there is an internet connection.
“It also signifies further growth for our company which has also recently worked in locations as diverse as the Netherlands, Malta, Mauritius, Canada and the Maldives.”
himalayasnepal.com managing director Raja Giri added: “It’s not just a cost-effective method, but really allows distance to be completely removed so it’s as if our other office is next door.”
SureVoIP is a member of the Internet Telephony Service Providers Association (ITSPA) and is regulated by Ofcom.
