IT only opened last month but Fat Buddha is already earning a reputation for itself as the favoured haunt of celebrity artists and musos visiting the store to stock up on everything from art supplies to jeans, T-shirts, books and vinyl toys.

Leslie Docherty, founder of Fat Buddha, said: “Whilst our original outlet in Bath Street always attracted a steady stream of local celebrity customers looking for the kind of items that you can’t find in the major chains – and continues to do so – our new shop on St Vincent Street seems to have generated a lot of interest amongst Glasgow’s thriving artistic and music communities.

“In addition to local artists like Jim Lambie, who buys acrylics and leather paints from us, and Travis singer Francis Healy, who also stocks up on paint supplies, we are getting a regular flow of bands, such as Kings of Leon and The View, who make a bee-line to Fat Buddha whenever they’re performing in town.”

Fat Buddha stocks everything from clothing, footwear, design-led books, urban vinyl toys and art supplies from its new second store at 73 St Vincent Street, Glasgow.
