FOLLOWING a rigorous review of their restaurants’ offerings, Heads of Ayr Farm Park’s new menu has been recognised with a Healthy Living Award, which is managed and delivered by the Scottish Consumer Council and funded by the Scottish Government.
In conjunction with the Farm Park owners, Craig and Edna Rankin, head chef, Scott Mulveny, carried out a thorough review of the menus on offer within the Park because, as Edna Rankin explains: “We are a facility which attracts thousands of young families each year, and many of them eat within our restaurants.
“Therefore, when we were made aware of this initiative, we felt it was our responsibility to ensure that we were doing our utmost to provide a choice of healthy, tasty and affordable options for all members of the family.
“To that end, we have introduced a variety of dishes including homemade soup, salads, baked potatoes and sandwiches all using local produce and suppliers whenever possible.”
An integral part of the Scottish Government’s healthyliving campaign, the healthyliving award is a national award for the foodservice sector in Scotland that rewards caterers who make it easier for their customers to eat healthily when eating out.
With over 50 breeds of fabulous fun and friendly animals to meet, stroke and feed, and 8000 sq ft Indoor Play area, quad biking, and waterzones, Heads of Ayr Farm Park is the ideal way to spend a great family day out this summer.
The award-winning Farm Park is open daily from 10am.
