MICHELLE McCabe, centre manager at The Avenue Shopping Centre in Newton Mearns, together with 30 retailers from the centre – are training to get fit for the 10k Greaves Sports Running Festival at Rouken Glen Park, Giffnock on Sunday 5th June to raise funds for Cash for Kids.
“This run is a great way to show our team spirit and willingness to come together to raise funds for a good cause,” said McCabe.
“As well as training hard, we’re all busy filling up our sponsor sheets.
“Many retailers not able to participate in the actual run are playing their part by sponsoring their colleagues that are running for one of the other stores because it’s a collective sponsorship project with all monies raised being poured into one big donation made on behalf of Team Avenue.”
And to make sure she completes the course, McCabe is receiving one-to-one training from Peter Nash, gym manager at Parklands Country Club, sponsor of runners, dubbed Team Avenue.
