A REALITY television star – dubbed Jedi Jim – will encourage budding entrepreneurs from across the North-east to unleash the force when he delivers an ‘out-of-this-world’ business advice session.
Jim Eastwood – who shot to fame as a finalist in last year’s series of hit show, The Apprentice – will reveal that the key to his success has not been ‘Jedi mind tricks’, but lots of hard work and expert support.
Jim will be joined by a host of inspiring business leaders at Be Your Own Boss – a free event held on Wednesday, April 18 by Enterprise North East Trust (ENET) as part of North East Business Week.
North East Business Week is supported and run by ENET, Aberdeen and Grampian Chamber of Commerce, Scottish Council for Development and Industry and the Federation of Small Businesses and takes place from 16th to 20th April with the theme of ‘Driving Growth’.
Says a spokesperson: “Jim earned the nickname during his bid to win a contract with Sir Alan Sugar because of his persuasive abilities and mind games in the boardroom.
“He will encourage those gathered at the event to consider entrepreneurship as a rewarding and exciting career path, and will reveal how the lessons he has learned through his education and family have helped him to maximise opportunities and fulfil his potential.
“Also sharing their inspiring experiences are local business owners Judith Thorpe of Thorpe Molloy and Craig Angus of Whaapp Ltd, who will discuss the benefits and excitement that comes with owning a business, as well as the challenges faced and how they overcame them.
“They will be sharing details of the support they used when they were starting out and the support that is available now to aspiring entrepreneurs.”

Be Your Own Boss takes place at Robert Gordon University’s Faculty of Health and Social Care, Aberdeen from 6.30pm – 8.30pm. The event is free but booking is essential.
