Media Release: Local filmmaking talent hits the big screen at Eden Court

‘Eden Court Creative Shorts’ – Thu 29 March 18:15 –  La Scala Cinema, Eden Court Theatre

COMEDY, thrills and music videos are just a few of the highlights to be found in this month’s Eden Court Creative Shorts.

Participants in Eden Court Creative’s Filmmaking and Digital Animation classes will exhibit the fruits of their labours from the past few months at this free public screening in Eden Court’s fabulous La Scala cinema.

As well as work created by our regular class students, we will be screening films made by participants from our Creative Identities project.

This initiative takes an innovative approach to providing arts activities to young people aged 10-19 in Scotland, enabling them to use filmmaking as an expressive form of communication whilst gaining confidence and developing skills.

Regular filmmaking and digital animation classes run every week at Eden Court, giving anyone the opportunity to try their hand at bringing their ideas to life on the screen.

Under the direction of the theatre’s in-house Digital Artist Graeme Roger, these popular classes provide students with the opportunity to use state-of-the art equipment to enhance their learning.

Graeme said: “The work produced by the recent classes shows the range of talent and ambition of our local students. Our classes are a fun approach to filmmaking designed to encourage participants to experiment with all kinds of filmmaking styles and share ideas with new friends. It’s a fantastic opportunity for them to see their own work on the big screen and for the public to see what they could achieve by getting involved here at the theatre.”

Pick up your free tickets for the Eden Court Creative Shorts screening on Thursday 29 March at 18:15, available now from Eden Court Box Office.
