GLASGOW Science Centre has launched a new blog to keep the public informed on developments with the BodyWorks exhibition among others.
The blog can be accessed here http://glasgowsciencecentre.tumblr.com/
GSC will open a new £2 million BodyWorks exhibition in 2013; a unique and inspiring programme exploring the science underpinning health and wellbeing in the 21st century.
The blog will follow every stage of the exhibition and through videos and pictures the public will get an exclusive, behind the scene, insight into the exhibition.
This immersive exhibition will fill the spacious 700 square metre third floor of GSC.
The dynamic installation will flow seamlessly, taking full advantage of the bright, open, riverside aspect to create an immediate ‘wow’ factor. Visitors can have their body scanned, measure the power in their punch and find out which sport their body type is best suited to.
They will collect and log their own data so that they can see how they perform relative to other visitors and/or Olympic athletes.
Other exhibits will demonstrate the effects of lifestyle choices on health or showcase technology in the health and wellbeing sector.
Dr Sarah Gibb, science interpretation officer at GSC, said: “BodyWorks is an exciting opportunity to showcase cutting-edge research and innovation in the health and wellbeing sector, as well as giving a platform for organisations involved in innovation to engage directly with our 350,000 annual visitors.
“The blog is a great way to keep up-to-date with the exhibition from start to finish and see how much work goes into show casing a new exhibition.”
