GLASGOW’S NEWEST CARE HOME OPENS ITS DOORS
Introducing Westerton Care Home, Bearsden
STAFF at privately-owned Westerton Care Home, a new state-of-the-art nursing home in Glasgow’s leafy suburbs, are delighted to welcome their first residents this week as the Home opens its doors to the public.
The custom build care home, situated in Maxwell Avenue, Bearsden, is constructed over three levels with impressive floor to ceiling windows looking onto a view of the Campsie Hills.
The care home’s build and fit-out has taken an investment of over £10 million to offer the highest standard of accommodation for residents.
Each of the 86 private rooms includes an en-suite bathroom, TV and music system, and in addition the home itself provides a wide range of facilities for residents including an onsite hairdressing salon, library, cinema room, resident’s celebrations room and a dedicated bedroom to allow overnight stays while visiting family.
Outside, Westerton Care Home boasts three tiered terraced gardens, a sensory gardens and putting green.
Westerton Care Home’s award-winning team is led by head of Care, Joan Fraser, who has over 25 years experience within Care Home Management and is supported by experienced staff who will provide 24-hour nursing care for residents.
Joan said: “It’s been an incredibly busy – and exciting – period for us over the past few months, and we’ve taken a lot of time to ensure that the environment is of the highest standard, and that our facility is a true home from home.
“In addition to the internal features, having such a great outdoor space is fantastic for Residents and their visiting family – not to mention the most amazing view!”
To celebrate the opening, the team at Westerton Care Home will be hosting Open Days from Thursday 16th February to Sunday the 19th February, between 1pm and 4pm.
Joan explained: “In addition to providing potential residents the chance to visit the Home and find out more about our facilities and services, our Open Days are also the perfect opportunity for families who may be considering a care home provision for their family members to see what life is like in a modern care facility.
“We’re looking forward to welcoming all of those who would like to see around the facilities at Westerton Care Home.
