WHAT connects Scotland’s Lord Advocate, crime novelist Denise Mina, opera star Jennifer McEwan and broadcaster Sheena McDonald?
On Friday 16 December they will all be taking part in an inaugural gala Christmas concert in Edinburgh’s St Mary’s RC Cathedral.
This delightful evening combining music, opera, celebrity readings and traditional carols is being hosted for the first time by Epilepsy Scotland and the Institute of Directors to support vital epilepsy services.
Lord Advocate, Frank Mulholland, confessed: “I am delighted to be invited to this worthwhile event in support of Epilepsy Scotland.
“The importance of their work cannot be overstated. Thousands of people across the country benefit from the invaluable services they provide.
“I sincerely hope that tonight’s event raises much needed funds, to allow them to continue to carry on with their work which so many rely. I am proud to be a part of this worthy cause.”
Many famous faces will be on stage and in the audience for this festive fundraising occasion, including tenor John Marshall, leading members of the Orchestra and Chorus of the Canongait and their conductor and founder, Robert Dick.
