Highlands and Islands Enterprise (HIE) has appointed a new Area Manager for Moray. David Oxley will take up the post on Monday 14 November, following the departure to the private sector of previous Area Manager Calum MacPherson.
Originally from County Durham, David qualified as an accountant working in industry in the early 1990s. He spent 15 years working at a senior level in London and the East Midlands, particularly focused on food and drink companies.
He moved to Lochaber in 2004 and has spent the last 7 years as Head of Operations in HIE's Fort William office. In this time he has helped support the growth of many significant local business and social enterprise projects.
David said: “I am absolutely delighted to be appointed as the new Area Manager for Moray. Moray is an area facing particular opportunities and challenges at present as the changes related to the Strategic Defence and Security Review affecting the military presence unfold. I am looking forward to working with the Moray team to ensure the agency continues to play a pivotal role, not least through the Moray Economic Partnership, to deliver a strong and robust future for the economy of Moray.
Welcoming David to the post, HIE Chief Executive Alex Paterson said: “David brings a wealth of experience and expertise with him to the Moray team and will use that to build on the excellent work already done by HIE and its partners to deliver a strong, sustainable and diverse economic base in the area.”
Ends.
