PANTO fever hit Eden Court Theatre, Inverness over the weekend as the cast from Eden Court’s fabulous family show dropped in to the theatre on Sat 27th to meet and greet the staff and their children from sponsor, Hawco Volkswagen, and on Sunday 28th to check out the talented youngsters trying out at the ‘babes auditions’.
As is now customary, hundreds of children aged between 8 – 16 years from across the Highland region attended open auditions on Sunday morning, hoping to be one of the lucky ones selected by dame and director, Iain Lauchlan and his team.
Iain said: “We were once again delighted by number of people who turned out, and by the high standard of dancing the children displayed.
“I’m confident that this year’s panto will be even better than before, especially as I’m playing the Dame…again!:
The annual pantomime is Eden Court’s biggest production of the year.
It attracts more than 30,000 people during its five-week run.
Cinderella will be directed by Iain Lauchlan who will also star as one of the Ugly Sisters.
Iain wrote and directed Jack and the Beanstalk and Beauty and the Beast, two of the most popular pantomimes at Eden Court in recent years. Iain is a BAFTA Award-winning children’s TV personality, and the co-creator of The Tweenies.
Hawco Volkswagen is supporting Eden Court’s panto this year as main sponsor of Cinderella.

Cinderella opens on Tuesday 6 December 2011 and runs until Sunday 8 January 2012.
