IN the wake of the violent attacks in Norway yesterday (July 22) that killed at least 91 people dead, Right Reverend David Arnott, Moderator of the General Assembly of the Church of Scotland, has written to the Presiding Bishop of Norway, Helga Haugland Byfuglien, in solidarity.
Dear Bishop Helga
We greet you in the name of Jesus Christ.
The Church of Scotland offers you our solidarity and prayers in the aftermath of the horrific violence in Oslo and Utoya Island. To all the families and friends who have lost loved ones, and to Norway as a whole, we send our condolences. Be assured all will be remembered in the prayers of the Church of Scotland tomorrow.
May God give you the strength and the blessing to help meet the needs of the grieving families and in seeking to offer comfort to your whole country.
In the name of Him who is able to do all things
Rt Rev David Arnott
