CLYDE 1 & 2 Superscoreboard is back on the air for the Clydesdale Bank Premier League 2011/12 season and has secured goalflash rights to bring listeners every goal from every game.
The audience will be at the heart of the action and able to keep up with all the goals as they happen across the country.
Top-flight presenters will give audiences across Glasgow and the West inside analysis and commentary on and off the pitch.
Superscoreboard’s famous Open Line follows the full time whistles, with the panel taking calls and debating post match manager analysis.
Jim Delahunt takes the hot seat to host the show, joined by pundits Hugh Keevins and Gordon Dalziel.
He will also be joined by seasoned Superscoreboard team members Andy Walker, Graham Spiers and Fraser Wishart as well as Jim Duffy, Roger Hannah and Darrell King – the biggest and best line up anywhere in Scotland.
Sheelagh McLaren will present the show on Monday evenings.
Superscoreboard’s weekday show is back on the air and the weekend programme makes its 2011/12 season debut on Saturday 23rd July on Clyde1 and Clyde 2 with a six hour special from midday to 6pm, and on Sunday 24th July from midday to 4pm.
Head of News and Sport at Clyde 1 & 2, Lorraine Herbison, was delighted to make the announcement on behalf of the stations.
She said: “We are thrilled to have secured this deal with the SPL for the second year running. It proved very popular with our listeners in Glasgow and the West of Scotland last season.
“Clyde 1 & 2 listening figures are at a 5 year high with over 700,000+* listeners tuning in from Glasgow and the West. Superscoreboard has contributed significantly to this success and we are really excited to get back on air.
“Going round the grounds to all our reporters and pundits allows us to break news of all the action on the park first and our big names bring us the news off the park too.
“Our weeknight Superscoreboard is already back on air and our weekend show launches this Saturday with a six hour special presented by Jim Delahunt.”
Host, Jim Delahunt, added: “This is my second year at the helm of Superscoreboard and we are going from strength to strength. This deal allows us to bring the listeners every goal from every game as soon as they happen.
“Our listeners have been telling us that they love the show and the goalflashes and we’re looking forward to our coverage all season. It proves once again that Clyde 1 and Clyde 2 Superscoreboard is the only place to come for football news.”
Neil Doncaster, chief executive of the SPL, said: “Ahead of the new Clydesdale Bank Premier League season this weekend, I am delighted to announce a new deal with Clyde 1 and Clyde 2.
“This is great news for fans in Glasgow and the West who can enjoy coverage of all the goals from around the grounds on Clyde 1 and Clyde 2 Superscoreboard.
“We look forward to working with Clyde 1 and Clyde 2 to broaden coverage of the Clydesdale Bank Premier League this season, starting this Saturday!”
