Media Release: Young entrepreneur bootcamp set to train the next generation of Scotland’s business owners

STUDENTS from across Scotland are preparing to participate in the Scottish Institute for Enterprise’s (SIE) Bootcamp ’11, which begins on June 29th.

Says a spokesperson: “The three-day intensive residential workshop will take place at Stirling University, and is designed to provide everything prospective young entrepreneurs will need to start their business venture over three intensive days of study and practice.

“Students will arrive with an idea for a new business venture and over the course of Bootcamp ’11 will be encouraged to develop their idea into a viable new business.

“They will participate in learning sessions with business experts and established entrepreneurs, pitching practice sessions and more, designed to provide them with all the information they need to take the next step towards launch.”

A second Bootcamp ’11 programme is planned to run July 4th – 6th.

Fiona Godsman, CEO of the Scottish Institute for Enterprise, said: “Bootcamp is an annual event for SIE and, year on year, we’ve always had a fantastic level of participation from Scottish students.

“It’s a very intensive and exciting experience and our intention is that students will reach the end of the three days with a clear idea of the way forward and what they need to do to launch their new venture.

“For many, Bootcamp will give them the head start they need. We’re excited to see what this year’s students will bring and how we can support and encourage them.”
