MUSSELBURGH’S Racecourse’s Ladies Day meeting has sold out for the sixth year in a row.
Tickets for this year ‘s meeting on June 17 were snapped up in record time, but disappointed race-goers can still attend Musselburgh’s richest meeting of the year, the Edinburgh Cup.
The £80,000 race, run just before Saturday’s Epsom Derby, has attracted top entries from all the major Newmarket stables and the Channel 4 televised meeting is expected to bring in a near capacity crowd.
Musselburgh Racecourse commercial manager, Sarah Montgomery, said: “We know from past experience there will be many who are disappointed at not getting a ticket for Ladies Day but they can experience the big meeting atmosphere at the Edinburgh Cup day this weekend.
“Tickets are selling very well and we would advise people to book in advance.
“We are obviously delighted at how quickly Ladies Day sold out and it is apparent all the hard work in previous years of establishing Ladies Day as Scotland’s premier fashion and racing event is now paying off.”
A new feature this year is a Face of Ladies Day competition with the winner picking up a £1,000 cheque and acting as a judge at the Fashion in the Field competitions, which are again being sponsored by leading store Jenners.
