ROSENETHE Singers will perform Bach’s St Matthew Passion in Dunblane Cathedral on Sunday 27th March, joined by the Scottish Bach players and six of the country’s rising-star soloists.
Director, Matthew Beetschen, and the 50-strong choir are continuing their partnership with exciting young professional artists.
“We really enjoy performing with the cream of Glasgow’s RSAMD talent, and have an ongoing interest in building the careers of soloists from Scotland and the rest of the UK”, says Beetschen.
Sunday’s line up will include Andrew Dickinson (Evangelist), Ronald Nairne (Christus), Rachel Redmond (soprano), Laura Kelly (alto), Ben Alden (tenor) and Rory McInroy (bass).
Also swelling the Rosenethe ranks will be seven members of the Berlin Konzertchor, travelling to Scotland for the concert as part of an ongoing exchange programme between the two choirs.
Tickets for Sunday’s concert are still available: £15/£12 from The Smith Art Gallery, Stirling; Smallprint, Dunblane; Strathallan Pharmacy, Bridge of Allan, or via the choir’s website at www.rosenethesingers.co.uk.
The Rosenethe Singers are based in Dunblane, and, as a foremost chamber choir in Central Scotland, they draw singers from across the region.
Recent concert performances have included Britten’s War Requiem, Bach’s Christmas Oratoria and Handel’s Messiah.
A team made up of choir members also appeared on BBC2’s quiz show, Eggheads, in February, beating the resident experts to a £16,000 prize!
