AN one-day criminal justice conference on Friday (February 25) will mark European Victims Week 2011 in Scotland.
Keynote speaker at the Victim Support Scotland (VSS) conference, in the banqueting hall of South Lanarkshire Council offices in Almada Street, Hamilton, is Kenny MacAskill, the Cabinet Secretary for Justice.
The theme is Volunteering and Community Issues and other speakers include David McKenna, VSS chief executive and president of Victim Support Europe; Martin Sime, chief executive of SCVO; and Joe Griffin, chief officer of the Scottish Government’s Reducing Reoffending programme.
There will also be a presentation by a stalking victim who went on to campaign for changes in the law in relation to that offence.
