GORDON MacRae, head of Communications and Policy, Shelter Scotland, the housing and homelessness charity, said:
“The creation of more quality homes is always good news but by itself this will do little to solve Scotland’s housing crisis.
“We have seen the consequences of believing that the housing needs of people in Scotland can ultimately be addressed through speculation on the property market.
“At a time when the housing investment fund is being cut by 34 per cent all parties in the Scottish Parliament must do more to find a long-term solution to the chronic shortage of affordable homes in Scotland.”
