UNIBIND machines are the binding systems of choice for top university, Exeter.

The University of Exeter is the latest university to discover Unibind’s binding machines. They currently use two of the XU338 systems, which they favour due their speed, efficiency and ease of use. These boast a multi-user capacity, meaning that the six members of staff in the university’s reprographics room do not have to queue to use the machine and jobs can have a rapid turn-around.
For use with the machine, Exeter University orders SteelCrystals and SteelBooks, which can be bound with up to 340 sheets of paper, making them ideal for thesis and dissertation binding.
In the current economic climate, the university is also attracted to the greater profit margins offered by Unibind products and with a minimum order of just ten cases, there is no wasted stock and it also takes up less room, all in all making Unibind an extremely cost-effective option.
Says a spokesperson: “In addition, Unibind cases are easily customisable. The SteelCrystal is transparent, allowing the student or teacher to personalise a visible title page for the document, whilst our SteelBook can be customised in a number of ways, including foil blocking and transfer printing.
“The University of Exeter previously ordered their SteelBooks with the stylish cut-out window option, to reveal the personalised title page underneath, but now opt to foil block their books in-house.
“Nevertheless, with their binding machines coming top of the class in Exeter, Unibind is confident that many more universities will discover the benefits they have to offer.”
