AN Aberdeen-based cancer support charity is looking for brave volunteers to take part in one of its most popular fundraising activities.
The annual Nippy Dippers event, organised by the Aberdeen Lions Club, will take place at Aberdeen beach on Boxing Day and CLAN is looking for hardy souls to take part on its behalf.
Last year, 20 dippers took part for CLAN and raised around £2,500 and the charity is hoping to find even more willing recruits for this year’s event.
Susan Crighton, fundraising manager at CLAN, said: “Every year we have a great response from people who wish to take part on our behalf.
“This event is certainly one of our most popular – and refreshing – activities and is the perfect way to revitalise ones self after one too many mince pies over the festive season.
“Regardless of what the weather brings us, everyone who takes part always has a fantastic time and we’re sure that this year won’t be any different.”
Anyone who would like to take part, or would like more information about the Nippy Dipper event should contact CLAN on 01224 647000.
Participants are invited to take part in fancy dress or in a CLAN t-shirt which will be provided for them.
CLAN is an independent charity which offers support to anyone affected by cancer. Based in Aberdeen, the charity covers the whole of Grampian, Orkney and Shetland. CLAN is also developing services in the community and now has a presence in Ballater, Inverurie, Peterhead, Stonehaven, Orkney and Shetland.
