WILD Connections, a new wildlife festival designed to showcase Highland Perthshire’s potential as a wildlife tourism destination, will be highlighting the importance of Red Deer to the area in a talk by Forestry Commission Scotland’s Rob Coope this Wednesday evening at 7.30pm in Castle Menzies, near Aberfeldy.
The festival, which launched last weekend and runs until Sunday 17th October, offers a selection of events to wildlife enthusiasts covering a whole host of the area’s indigenous species, of which Red Deer is just one.
Mr Coope is expected to take attendees through the rut and post rutting behaviours of red deer stags and provide an introduction to red deer ecology in Scotland.
Tickets, priced £10 for adults and free for children, are available for this event on the night.
