EDEYE products allow the iPhone, iPod touch and iPad to be used as convenient universal remote controls, offering high-end functionality at a very affordable price.
Says a spokesperson: “Users can operate any equipment controlled via infrared signals: televisions, set top boxes, DVD and Blu-ray players, home cinema receivers, game consoles and more. The RedEye application, which powers both RedEye products, is available as a free download on iTunes.
Struan Mackenzie, operations director of Hi-Fi Corner, says this product is going to be a hot Christmas present: “These started to sell as soon as it came in the door; one customer bought the unit so that he could switch off the televisions and videos in his children’s’ rooms from the comfort of his settee when it was their bedtime.”
RedEye mini hardware is priced at £49.95 (including VAT). The mini simply plugs into the headphone socket of the iPhone, iPod touch or iPad, and requires no batteries.
The original RedEye, with multiple user and multi-room ability, costs £199.90 (including VAT) and includes a charging dock, which connects to your home Wi-Fi network.
