THE Enchanted Forest, the outdoor sound and light show at Faskally Wood in Highland Perthshire, has appointed newly-established local catering company, Hettie’s Catering, to feed the 20,000 visitors expected at this year’s light show: Force of Nature.
Begins a spokesperson: “The menu, which has been specially devised for The Enchanted Forest, makes the best use of local and regional produce, much of which will also be in season. This ‘back to basics’ approach is in perfect alignment with how the Highland Perthshire Community Interest Company wishes to develop The Enchanted Forest event to ensure its future success.”
Derek Allan, chair of the Enchanted Forest, commented: “This year we’ve really listened to customer feedback on how to improve the catering element of The Enchanted Forest. Customers told us they wanted us to make the best of the fantastic local produce we have on our doorstep here in Highland Perthshire and we agreed.
“Hettie’s have come up with a menu that, where possible, uses locally grown vegetables, locally reared cattle and even locally-brewed tea!”
Allan continued: “We want The Enchanted Forest to really showcase what Highland Perthshire can do and we’re very glad to have Hettie’s on board to help us make this year’s event a resounding success.”
The challenge of feeding 20,000 people over a 17 night period is an exciting project for any catering company, but Hettie’s knows how to rise to the challenge having catered at T in the Park earlier this year.
Nicola Martin, the driving force behind Hettie’s Catering, said: “We are absolutely delighted to be working with The Enchanted Forest and providing the catering for this year’s event. We believe that taste matters and we are confident that visitors to The Enchanted Forest will appreciate the care and attention that has gone into devising a menu that makes the best use of all the best of Highland Perthshire’s distinctive flavours.”
Force of Nature will be the ninth Enchanted Forest event to be held in Highland Perthshire, and is the first of the events to be run by the newly formed Highland Perthshire Community Interest Company, a community based social enterprise.
It is anticipated to attract 20,000 visitors to the area between 22nd October and 7th November 2010.
