SOURCE magazine – one of Scotland’s leading careers and lifestyle publications for young people – is continuing in its tradition of creating CV-boosting opportunities and career hand-ups thanks to its fantastic Source VISION short film competition.
Following on from last year’s hugely successful Passion for Fashion competition, which saw one lucky designer win a host of prizes including work experience with a top stylist, Source launched VISION.
This competition encouraged young film makers from across Scotland to submit their short films on any issue or subject, once again offering a range of fantastic prizes including work experience at RDF Media Group.
From the many excellent entries submitted, ten films have been shortlisted to go forward to a gala premiere screening at the Glasgow Film Theatre.
Taking place on 26 October 2010, the event will be hosted by Mark Millar, toast of the Hollywood film industry and writer of some of the world’s most popular comic books.
At the premiere event, the ten shortlisted films will be screened, with the winning film being selected by a panel of esteemed judges from the film and TV industry.
Mark Millar will announce the winner before sitting down in front of the audience to a question and answer session about his career and successes. And who will host the special interview? One lucky Source reader, of course!
In the autumn 2010 edition of Source, a call was put out for Scottish youngsters to explain why they should win the chance to interview Mark Millar.
The deadline for entries is 6 October, and already the team behind Source has received some fantastic submissions, which will make the final decision of who should join Mark on stage to pose their own questions a tough one.
A full write-up on the gala premiere event and Q and A session with Mark Millar will be featured in the Winter 2010 edition of Source, available at the start of December.
