THE Aberdeen office of leading construction company, Mansell, has continued to build on its recent success by securing a contract worth £11.5million on the back of another recently completed project for the same client.
The contract, agreed with Huntaven Properties Ltd, part of the Hunting Energy Services Group, will see Mansell design and construct a new extension to the company’s existing office and workshop at Badentoy, Portlethen.
As part of the agreement, Mansell will also design and construct a new workshop and separate swager building at the company’s Fordoun site, along with car parking and external works. Both projects will run concurrently along with the extension of the pipe storage yard, encompassing all earthworks, drainage and concrete works.
A crucial part of the contract will be to ensure that Hunting Energy Services’ operations on the Badentoy site continue unhindered by construction work being carried out. As such, the work will be completed in five phases.
Phase one will include the extension of the existing office car park to locate site cabins, the demolition of an existing building attached to the rear of the current factory and an extension adjacent to the factory.
The project was awarded to Mansell following the successful completion of a previous contract for Hunting Energy Services Group.
The project – which was worth around £700,000 – involved the design and construction of offices, meeting rooms, computer rooms and a kitchen area in the upper level at Fordoun base, which sits on a former WW11 airfield.
