A TRADITIONAL country inn in the village of Houston, a short drive from Glasgow city centre, has introduced a range of buffets to cater for all kinds of social functions; from hatches and matches to despatches.
With a history stretching back to 1784, The Houston Inn offers flavoursome traditional fare using locally sourced ingredients and is firmly rooted in the heart of village life. Its new range of buffets aims to enhance its offering by catering to the needs of the local community in Johnstone in Renfrewshire.
Houston Inn manager, Caroline Kinnaird, said: “Houston and Johnstone have a vibrant community life and, with a long history in the village, we have catered for many hatches, matches and despatches over the years.
“The introduction of our dedicated buffet range is designed to cater for all kinds of social functions in the local community by catering for a diverse range of tastes and requirements.”
The Houston Inn’s buffet options range from a sandwiches, sausage rolls and vegetable pakora option for £4.95 per person to a chicken satay sticks, vegetable spring rolls, quiches, pizzas, bruchetta, open sandwiches and sausage rolls option for £6.95 per person.
Its funeral packages, meanwhile, range from a soup, Danish pastry or scone, tea/coffee option for £3.50 per person to a soup and crusty roll, steak pie with new potatoes or haddock with chips and peas, tea or coffee option for £6.50 per person.
The Houston Inn’s 70-cover restaurant is complemented by a 50-capacity beer garden and a large lounge bar. The Inn has a range of comfortable family, twin, double and single rooms, each offering a relaxed, out of town atmosphere. All rooms come with TV/satellite, hospitality trays and a business desk.
