JUSR three weeks remain for Scotland’s top environmentally-friendly businesses to enter the Vision in Business for the Environment of Scotland (VIBES) awards 2010 – applications should be completed by Friday 9 July 2010.
Recognised as the longest-running Green business awards scheme in Scotland – now in its 11th year – VIBES aims to recognise businesses of all sizes and sectors employing environmental best practice in their daily activity to cut down on resource use, increase sustainability, improve reputation and benefit their company’s bottom-line.
Over the past decade, the free-to-enter awards have produced winners from across Scotland, drawn from a range of sectors including: manufacturing; food and drink; transport; environmental services; oil and gas and leisure.
VIBES chair, Alan Farquhar, said: “With just three weeks to go before the deadline there is still time for businesses across Scotland to enter VIBES.
“Winning a VIBES award not only highlights your company’s green credentials and give you a competitive edge but tells the rest of the country that you are making a positive contribution to the well-being of Scotland.”
There are six categories for the 2010 awards; the VIBES Management Award 2010 will have a small (less than 50 employees), medium (between 50 and 250 employees) and large (more than 250 employees) winner.
In addition, winners will be selected from the following categories:
VIBES Product Award 2010
- VIBES Service Award 2010
- VIBES Process Award 2010
- VIBES Best Micro Company Award 2010
- VIBES Special Award for Energy Efficiency
Entries are assessed on the application form and a site visit. Winners will be announced at a prestigious award ceremony in Glasgow on 1 December.
VIBES is also the only Scottish awards scheme which feeds into the European Business Awards for the Environment (EBAE). By winning a VIBES award, companies are eligible to enter the EBAE, which attract entries from the cream of Europe’s most environmentally positive businesses.
